Schools seeking donations in Minnesota

St. Francis High School, ISD 15

Glenn Morehouse Olson, Journalism Adviser and Language Arts Teacher, writes: I run an award-winning journalism program in a rural Minnesota High School that has a high number of free and reduced lunch recipients. We have grown as a program, because we have terrific students with a passion for what they do. We serve over 2,000 students. In comparison to other schools with similar programs however, we operate using just seven Macs (for over 35 students). We currently have one G5, one Mac Powerbook laptop and emacs. Our PC station also just died. The students have raised the money for each new computer added. We are struggling to add a much-needed multi-media component to our program (a program that would help prepare students for the future of what journalism holds.) We will only be successful if we can upgrade our technology.

We are seeking Mac or PC laptops or desktop computers (G4 or G5 Macs - Pentium 4 or 5 PCs). They need to be able to support Adobe Creative Suite because they will be used for graphic design. If you can help, please e-mail Ms. Olsen or call 763-213-1633.
