Charity computer recycling projects
Computers Assisting People - Cleveland - the volunteers of CAP take in donated equipment (PCs,peripherals, software, etc.) and refurbish, repair and combine them to make useful, working systems. We then give them away, free of charge, to non-profit organizations in the Cleveland area to be used in fulfilling their missions.
Ohio ReUse Industries is a reuse and recycling center located in Southeast Ohio. We are always looking for computer donations, particularly computers we can refurbish and sell at a low cost to other non-profits or individuals.
Ohio Technology Access Project is a Computer Recycling Program sponsored by the Dayton Microcomputer Association, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Dayton, Ohio is a 25-year-old computer user group, attracts talented volunteers to process and distribute donated computers. The corporate and individual donors can receive a tax-deduction for their contribution. The donations are then evaluated, tested, repaired and upgraded. Those improved computers and peripherals are distributed mostly in Ohio to people with disabilities, challenges and special needs and to schools and institutions which serve these individuals.
Recycles.Org is a national exchange network hosting the Nonprofit Computer Recycling and Reuse Network and the Nonprofit Materials Exchange Network. Computer Recycling and Reuse is where they started and is still at the heart of their service. However, since Nonprofit organizations also need many office supplies, and businesses that "clean out their closets" have many things to give, now they also help find homes for those items as well."
