Disabled individuals in Pennsylvania seeking computer donations
Even though the IRS does not allow tax deductions for donations given to individuals, we urge you to consider making a gift of your recently retired computer to a person with a disability.
Your used computer (Pentium 4, or better - Macintosh G4-G5, or better) could have a significant impact on someone's life and perhaps a tax deduction might not be the most important consideration.
Your gift could provide an opening to the outside world for a person with limited mobility or confined to bed. Disabled individuals are often the least able to afford computers even though they could benefit the most from the access to the outside world, family and friends a computer and the Internet could provide. Please think about helping someone in need.
Sheryl Kayser writes: I am permanently disabled, and in desperate need of a laptop computer and router. Because of my disability, I am unable to sit at the computer desk for more than a few minutes without pain. Currently, in order for me to use the computer, my husband dismantles the desktop and moves it to the couch for me, then he stretches an ethernet cord to the computer room for internet access. So, I only get to use the computer for a few hours a week. I have begun to volunteer as a Wish Ambassador for Wish Upon A Hero, and need more frequent access to the computer so that I can monitor the Wish site. If someone could help me get a laptop system, it would not only help me, but also all those that I am able to help through my volunteer work.
Seeking a Penitum IV, or better, PC. If you can help, please email Ms. Kayser or phone 570-698-6090

My wife (who is completely and permanently disabled) and I were homeless for two (2) years but now have separate small apartments. The separation was due to massive medical bills and local housing policies. I am in my 4th semester of college and was on the Dean's List the last two (2) semesters.
