Disabled individuals in Ohio seeking computer donations
Even though the IRS does not allow tax deductions for donations given to individuals, we urge you to consider making a gift of your recently retired computer to a person with a disability.
Your used computer (Pentium 4, or better - Macintosh G4-G5, or better) could have a significant impact on someone's life and perhaps a tax deduction might not be the most important consideration.
Your gift could provide an opening to the outside world for a person with limited mobility or confined to bed. Disabled individuals are often the least able to afford computers even though they could benefit the most from the access to the outside world, family and friends a computer and the Internet could provide. Please think about helping someone in need.

Rocky Kurchak writes: I am a caseworker trying to locate a computer for a client. She is 34 years old and has never worked due to severe emotional problems. She has a high school diploma, likes to read, but is not able to get out much. In one of our first meetings she asked if I could help her get a computer. She has family and friends with whom she would like to be able to stay in contact. They frequently tell her that they could send pictures if she had a computer. She also believes that, if she learned some computer skills, she might be able to work part-time. Her only income is Social Security. I hope that getting a computer will motivate her to achieve some goals: increased social contact, employability skills, improved self-esteem, increased interest in community and more constructive use of time. Seeking Pentium IV, or better, PC or G4/G5 Mac. If you can help, please Mr. Kurchak or phone 330-379-3618
